Concrete Preparation
Before coating is applied, concrete must be:
- Dry – No wet areas
- Clean – Contaminants removed
- Profiled – Mechanical preparation
Mechanical preparation is the preferred method of preparing concrete for coating application. Shot-blasting or diamond grinding are acceptable methods. Use a crack chaser with a diamond blade to prepare joints and cracks prior to installation of UPC 777 Perfect Patch TG.
Mixing
The ratio of UPC 777 Perfect Patch TG is 1 to 1. That is, one part A (resin) to one part B (hardener). Mix with a paint stick, trowel, or tapers knife. Perfect Patch TG material cures quickly. Mix small batches to optimize working time.
- Mix equal amounts of part A and part B together for 30 seconds. Mix only the amount of material that can be applied within 1-2 minutes.
- Immediately apply to concrete.
- If mixing with sand as a mortar/slurry, mix A and B first and then add sand. Mix for another 20 seconds and apply immediately.
Application Instructions
Clean the area of debris and contaminants that would act to debond UPC 777 Perfect Patch TG; oils, loose materials, dirt, rubber, etc. Expose clean rough concrete for best results. If using a saw to cut concrete and clean the crack, remove all of the dust from the cut-out area. Cut a vertical edge, minimum 1/4” deep, around the perimeter of spall. Make sure the area is dry. Vacuum all cement dust.
Apply Perfect Patch TG with a 3” X 8” trowel or tapers knife.
Clean-up
UPC 777, while in a un-reactive state, may be cleaned up with water and degreaser. Isopropyl alcohol or acetone may be needed once the resin begins hardening.
Warranty
Universal Polymer Coatings products are warranted for one year after date of purchase. Please refer to the UPC Limited Material warranty for additional clarification.
