Concrete Preparation
Before coating is applied, concrete must be:
- Dry – No wet areas
- Clean – Contaminants removed
- Profiled – Mechanical preparation
Mechanical preparation is the preferred method of preparing concrete for coating application. Shot-blasting or diamond grinding are acceptable methods. Use a crack chaser with a diamond blade to prepare joints and cracks prior to installation of UPC 777 Perfect Patch.
Application Instructions
Clean the area of debris and contaminants that would act to debond UPC 777 Perfect Patch; oils, loose materials, dirt, rubber etc. Expose clean rough concrete for best results. If using a saw to cut concrete and clean the crack, remove all of the dust from the cut out area. Cut a vertical edge, minimum 1/4” deep, around the perimeter of spall. Make sure the area is dry. Vacuum or blow off cement dust.
Caulking Cartridge Application: Shake cartridge forcefully for at least 1 min. Remove end cap from cartridge. Pop in white flow reducer cap. Screw static mixer to top of cartridge. Place assembled cartridge into pneumatic dispensing tool for use. Extrude a small amount of material off to the side until a uniform color is achieved. Dispense under constant uniform pressure.
Perfect Patch requires diamond grinding after it has cured. This should be performed prior to the application of any UPC system. If UPC Perfect Patch is not ground, it may be seen through the new coating system or the system coated on top may not adhere.
Clean-up
Empty containers must be drip-free. Cured product may be disposed of without restrictions. Excess liquid “A” and “B” material should be mixed together and allowed to cure, then disposed of in the normal manner. Cured materials may be stripped or peeled from plastic tools and containers. It is recommended that the metal tools be cleaned within one hour of use by cutting or peeling cured material from tool.
Warranty
Universal Polymer Coatings products are warranted for one year after date of purchase. Please refer to the UPC Limited Material warranty for additional clarification.
